Mushrooms – how much inspiration and magic they chance upon us. You go out on a trail, and start walking. Suddenly, at the trail's bank, sprouts an object which differs in its texture and color from its surroundings. It catches your eye, you approach … as you're coming to examine it, you see clearly we're talking about something different here, he doesn't look similar to plants or to animals around, and he doesn't feel like any of them. it's a mushroom.
As we are walking in nature, our senses sharpen. Suddenly, we begin to experience, see and smell things we never notice in our daily routine. Suddenly you can sense a color in all its intensity, or listen to a bird in ways that don't cease to amaze. When out to mushroom hunting, this experience all but intensifies. And when we're out to do it in unknown territory – where we've never been before, the surprise is tenfold.
Mushrooms present us an opportunity to observe nature and the ties which exist within it, differently. Mushrooms also show us a picture of its surrounding culture – which show us relationships between people and the mushroom in local surroundings, different uses that are made of them for different purposes, and sometimes real economic attraction centers to people from around the world.
In our expedition we'll go out and examine together this unexplained magic called mushroom – from the moment of searching in the woods through meeting the people who live around them, to meeting the mushroom on a plate through local cooking.

Mushrooms are not only an organism that lives in nature, they are also a mirror of culture and folklore, they are an opportunity to meet new landscapes - both geographical and human. On our guided travels around the world, we set out to meet the Mushroom Kingdom as reflected by locals in more remote and lesser countries. We will experience a variety of different areas where the fungi grow, and we will find species that are rare and non-existent in Israel. Of course, a significant part of our experience will also be through the kitchen - the local culinary folklore and the magic that manages to produce different mushrooms in different parts of the world.
